Ludhiana, August 5 (000) – Keeping in view the upcoming festive season, The Deputy Commissioner Mr Pradeep Kumar Agrawal has directed the Health Department and Dairy Development Department to keep a strict vigil on businesses of milk and sweets. Mr Agrawal was presiding over a monthly meeting of ‘Mission Tandarust Punjab’ at his office today.
Expressing satisfaction over the performance of various departments, Mr Agrawal directed the Health Department and Dairy Development Department to continue checking the quality of the food products being sold in the market. He said that keeping in mind the upcoming festive season, the vendors of the milk and sweets businesses should pay special attention as these products are the most admired during these days.
He directed the Forest Department and the District Development and Panchayat Department to continuously monitor the campaign initiated by the Punjab Government to plant 550 saplings in each village on the occasion of 550th birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. He also directed that the tree guards be set up in sufficient numbers to protect the plants being planted. Apart from this, the rest of the departments were also asked to continue their efforts to achieve the goals given under Mission Tandarust Punjab.
He also appealed to the common people to give full support to the successful mission launched. He said that if people are concerned about malnutrition products, then they should contact the helpline number 0161-2444193 at the Civil Surgeon Office and provide confirmed information on which appropriate action will be taken. He also appealed that the plants being planted in the villages should be properly maintained.
