CII Ludhiana organized the virtual meeting with Ludhiana Administration. Around 252 industry members jointed the interaction with DC Sh. Pardeep Aggarwal, CP Sh. Rakesh Aggarwal Ji & GM DIC Sh. Mahesh Khanna, at 9 pm on May 1st, this meeting was moderated Mr. Rahul Ahuja, Pb. State Chair CII & Mr. Amit Juneja, Chairman CII Ludhiana Zonal.
Since the industry has been permitted to run without permission by giving self-declarations located in a specified location as per MHA notification, industry members were facing a lot of issues related to this. Sh. Pardeep Aggarwal explained the instructions have been given to DIC to simplify the process & meanwhile, asked various associations members present in the meeting, to collect the copy of declaration & Bulk pass sheet & get them signed manually from DIC to speed up the process of permissions although every industry has to email the copy to DIC at gmdicludhiana@gmail.com compulsorily.
Various other agendas were taken up related to the Inter-State Worker movement process and the permission to the industry in unnotified zones. To which, Sh. Pradeep Aggarwal asked the industry to wait for further orders and the process is being adopted for the same.
Mr. Rahul Ahuja raised the concern regarding the interstate movement of migrant workers, Sh. Pardeep Aggarwal said that in 6 hours today they have received multiple requests from the workers to go back to their native places, he further said it is their right & as per the notification by central govt. they are in process to make appropriate standard procedures & definite Protocol to be followed for this movement, regarding the movement of staff & workers from the neighboring states to Ludhiana as factory has started operations he said that Punjab govt. has made Protocol for all people coming from outside states & this will be followed strictly.
The members raised their concern on Permission to start industry at Mix land areas to which Sh. Pardeep Aggrawal said the notification of MHA is very clear for industry located in Focal Points, Industrial areas, Industrial Estate & the instructions have been given to GM DIC to issue Permission to the industry which are located only in industrial zones as per Ludhiana District Master plan.
Further to it, Mr. Juneja raised the protocol process to open the shops as per MHA notification. Sh. Rakesh Aggarwal Ji mentioned that online orders and door to door delivery can be done. No one is permitted to open the shops though. He assured industry members that Ludhiana Police is standing strong & supporting industry for their movements of commercial vehicles, but on the same side industry has to follow the guidelines for movement & curfew pass, he further replied to a query of member regarding purchasing at shops he said the relaxation from 7 am to 11 am is limited to shops who have been given permission & movement is allowed on these shops by foot which means residents can access the shops only in their residential areas, for shops related to industry supplies the process is being made & will be communicated in coming days but it is preferred such supplies are directly delivered to factories.
The meeting lasted for 2 hours & ended at 11 pm Mr. Ashpreet Sahni Vice Chairman CII Ludhiana & Mr. Ashwin Nagpal saluted the efforts of Ludhiana Administration & Policing during the COVID19 period & appreciated Sh. Pardeep Aggarwal, Sh. Rakesh Aggarwal & Sh. Mahesh Khanna for supporting queries of industry members with patience & appropriate answers.
This meeting was attended by prominent industrialists including Mr.Upkar Singh Ahuja President CICU, Mr. Gurmeet Singh Kular President FICO, Mr. OP Bassi President Phase VIII association, Mr. Onkar Singh Pahwa, Mr. Neeraj Satija, Mr. Hemant Sood along with many other industrial associations & their members.
