Seven Day Residential NSS Camp Concluded at DAV Public School

 JUNE12 LUDHIANA The Seven Day Residential NSS Camp at DAV Public School Pakhowal Road Ludhiana concluded with great enthusiasm and excitement under the guidance of Pr. Dr. Satwant Kaur Bhullar. The concluding day kicked off with the active preparations by the student volunteers of the school NSS Unit. The campus was decorated beautifully with buntings and festoons to welcome Hon’ble S. Dapinder Singh Lottey, Asst. Director Sports and Youth Services Punjab and Respected Mr. Sunny Bhalla, Councilor Ward No. 82 who graced the occasion as the honoured guests of the day. The event began with the recitation of the auspicious Gayatri Mantra and sacred prayer to Almighty for blessing the humans with wisdom to live in harmony with biosphere. S. Dapinder Singh Lottey appreciated the student volunteers for making strenuous efforts in contributing their best to the social welfare. The students must utilize their knowledge in finding practical solutions to the individual and community problems. Such Camps would surely help the students to acquire leadership qualities and democratic attitudes. Pr. Dr. Satwant Kaur Bhullar threw light on the importance of holding NSS Units in school. She shared that the students need to understand the community in which they work. It enables them to relate to the community and identify the needs and problems of the community and involve themselves in problem solving. It also develops a sense of social and civic responsibility amongst the students. The students enthralled the gathering with their energetic performances on Bhangra. The folk songs sung by the students were thoroughly enjoyed by the audience. The street play on Women Empowerment became a major attraction for the residents of Dugri Phase-I .The PPT on the review of all the camp activities was greatly admired by the guests. Rajesh Sharma, Programme Officer NSS Unit proposed the vote of thanks . The students carried away the fond memories of their stay with each other.
