The blue January sky enlivened and adorned by colourful kites releasing the message of sustainable goals on the auspicious occasion of ‘Makar Sankranti- a Harvest Festival’ as the Green School Program of BCM Arya organized a fun filled competition of ‘Kite Flying’ for class IX in the school premises on 12 January 2023.
Principal, Mrs Anuja Kaushal presided over the event in the presence of the dignitaries, Dr. Paramjit Kaur, Director and Mrs. Rachna Malhotra, Dean Academics. The judge of the day Mrs. Monika Walia was accorded a warm welcome. Mrs. Chandra Jyoti (Community Officer of Zone-D, Municipal Corporation) was also present in the event.
The enthusiastic students spread the crucial message with splashy and vibrant crafts that soared high and took to the clear skies in the backdrop of BCM Arya. Myriad colourful kites spread out a message, ‘Say No to China Thread’. This colourful Jamboree offered quite a beautiful sight to the viewers as the participants regaled under blue skies. This is an excellent idea for younger generation to create awareness by Kite flying and find solutions for 17 Sustainable goals says , Vipra Kale , Environment Manager of BCM Arya.
“Such activities surely sensitize and reconnect the students with nature,’ said the Principal, Mrs. Anuja Kaushal. She further emphasized that in the wake of upswing environmental degradation graph, the Sustainable Development Goals are the blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all. We need to promote prosperity while protecting the planet.
