Ludhiana  June 8: Sat Paul Mittal School organized a Teachers’ Training Conclave from June 1 till June 8 to equip the teachers with the skills. Teachers were taught to handle the challenges better with a focussed aim and creating an engaging and intellectually stimulating learning experience for students in the class. In anything but a subdued tempo to address pressing issues like constricting stereotypes, social conformities and gender disparity, Avneet Kaur, a well-known psychologist, conducted the workshop for the teachers of Sat Paul Mittal School on Friday, June 1 reproached the idea of perpetuating gender roles while approaching, with a subtlety, the difficulty of fitting the stifling confines of societal dictations of what to do and what not to do. A Motivational and Meditational workshop was conducted by Meenakshi and Ruchika on 2nd June Saturday in the Mittal Auditorium. The workshop provided a training and refresher course for the educators that enabled spiritual empowerment of the educators as well as the students. Esha B Shaunik conducted a workshop for the teachers as a part of – The Teachers’ Conclave on 4 june . She emphasized that the teachers are only limited by their own imagination. The onus lies with the educators to provide wings to their imagination. The purpose of education is not just making a student literate but adds rationale thinking, knowledgeabilty and self-sufficiency. The resource person on 5th June Roopali Suri, talked about evaluating the traditional methods of teaching as well as multimedia teaching and suggested other useful teaching methods that can be attempted in imparting knowledge to the students. Another workshop was conducted by Gurprit Kaur, Ravneet Sahota, Ashima Kharbanda and Jaspreet Kaur on 6th June, on the new curriculum proposed by the CISCE. The focus of the schools should be to make learning happen rather than just ‘producing.’ A good curriculum should follow a CCR approach – Clear, Challenging and Reasonable. For a curriculum to be successful, it has to be a ‘possibility’. The focus in a curriculum should be on learning rather than finishing the syllabus. A workshop on ‘Classroom Management’ was conducted by Kovleen Middha on 7th June. The workshop aimed at improving the classroom climate and the relationship between the teacher and the taught. On 7th June Usha Chopra from the Red Cross Society took up a First Aid training session with the teachers so that they could deal with the medical emergencies. The teachers of Sat Paul Mittal School got the golden opportunity to enjoy the Zumba Fitness workshop on 8th June. Nehal Jain, the resource person was so energetic that she encouraged the teachers to participate whole heartedly in the workshop. The workshop acted as a stress buster for the teachers. The Conclave concluded keeping in mind that the rights of each individual are safeguarded. This is the only way to ensure truly sustainable balance and progress in which every one of us, the teacher as well as the learner, has a stake.
