The Global Women Network (GWN- Ludhiana chapter), July meetup was held on 31st July. The topic of discussion for the meetup was “Financial & Money Management”. Mr.Vebhore Seth, cluster head for Birla SunLife, was the Guest of Honour and key speaker for the event. His 14 years of experience in the finance and wealth management industry combined with his in-depth knowledge of the topic made the session extremely interesting for all the women attending the session.
“Money/Finance Management is an integral part of both our personal and professional lives. With the recent big changes in the Indian economy like demonetisation& GST, it is important for us to be updated with how to manage our money better with changing times. It was with this thought that we decided to address Finance as a topic for our July meetup discussion”, said Swati Paliwal, GWN Ludhiana chapter president.
Along with the key speaker session, this month’s meetup also witnessed a new addition to the meeting format. GWN-Ludhiana is now featuring GWN-Superwomen from their members by giving selected members a platform to market and grow their business. “The main purpose of the organization is to help women grow beyond individual limitations and GWN-Superwomen segment focuses on just that,” said chapter Vice president Srishti Aggarwal.
The GWN Superwomen for this month were Dr.SimranSindhu(MDS), a paedodontist by profession, who recently launched her dental care center by the name of “Krowns Dental Care” in BRS Nagar and Mrs.Alpana who decided to follow her passion to become a baker against all odds and recently launched her homemade chocolates and bakery items under the brandname “Maple”.
Dr.PriyankaKalra along with RidhimaGarg, Vice president, Mentoring and Training, respectively, together lead the planning and execution of “One on one” mentoring sessions organized by GWN for their members based on their requirement.
“We are very happy to announce that Mr.Vebhore Seth is now a mentor with us for all finance related help that our members need”, said RidhimaGarg.
The July meetup was attended by 35 women who are working or are aspiring to work and was very well received. The GWN Ludhiana Chapter plans on conducting monthly events to promote growth and provide seamless mentorship to women going forward.
