Mr Gaurav Sehgal, Executive Director – PYE Tools Pvt Ltd has been elected as Chairmanof Ludhiana Zonal Council whileMrBaldev Singh, Director – Amar Agricultural Implement Works, was elected as Vice Chairman of Ludhiana Zonal Council at CII Ludhiana Annual Session for 2017 – 18 organised today at Hotel Park Plaza, Ludhiana.
The CII Ludhiana-Zonal Council on the occasion of its Annual Session for 2017 – 18 also organized an Interactive Session of the Local Industry with senior officials of Ludhiana Administration to discuss how the CII and Ludhiana Administration can work together to address some of the pressing challenges faced by the city & its residents. Mr Manjinder Singh, the outgoing Chairman of CII Ludhiana Zonal Council, highlighted the need for a proactive and stimulating attitude both from industry and the local administration to realize the dream of making Ludhiana a smart city in true sense. Endorsing MrManjinder’s view point, Ms Anita Darshi, Joint Municipal Commissioner, Ludhiana, stressed on the need to create a sort of synergy between the bureaucracy and the civil society at large so that they can work in tandem to address critical challenges faced by the city especially with respect to traffic management, curbing pollution and waste management and also maintanence of civic & Industrial Infrastructure in the city.Mr Ajay Sood, Additional Deputy Commissioner – Ludhiana while interacting at the event assured of full support to the citizens at large on the topical issues / concerns faced by them in daily routine concerning Ludhiana to be positioned as Smart City in near Future. On this occasion, Mr R N Dhoke, Ludhiana Police Commissionershared the various reforms & measures undertaken by the Police administration in checking the Crime Graph in the city as also managing the traffic and reducing Road accidents in Ludhiana. MrSarvjit SinghSamra,Chairman, CII Punjab State Councillauded the Industry friendly & proactive attitude of the Ludhiana administration, he also suggested the Industry & the local administration to form Joint Working committees under the CII City Development Core Group to address issues related toAssured water and power supply, sanitation and solid waste management, efficient urban mobility and public transport etc. Mr Sandeep Jain,Past Chairman, CII Punjab State Council shared how the CII on its part has been closely working with the government of Punjab across the spectrum on policy matters, investment promotion and resolvingkey issues pertaining to Industry.
